How Known and Unknown Cannabinoids Create Cannabis Experiences

CBD Cannabinoid

Cannabinoids are compounds found in or derived from the cannabis plant that interact with the human endocannabinoid system.

Scientific Knowledge of Cannabinoids

When you drink a cannabis beverage, eat an edible, or smoke a joint, the changes in how your mind and body feel are largely a result of cannabinoids. Cannabinoids are compounds found in or derived from the cannabis plant that interact with the human endocannabinoid system.

As mentioned in a previous article, endocannabinoids are like cannabinoids but made by your body. Your endocannabinoids bind to your endocannabinoid receptors to signal when your mind and body need to maintain homeostasis. Cannabinoids, like endocannabinoids, are thought to influence your endocannabinoid system and thus your mind-body sense of homeostasis. Notably, different cannabinoids do different things. Cannabinoids like THC have psychoactive effects, whereas cannabinoids like CBD work more on the body.

Green Revolution recognizes these differing capabilities of cannabinoids. Green Revolution’s 4 experiences: Fly, Elevate, Chill, and Relief feature different cannabinoids in different ratios to modulate and deliver the exact experience desired by the user. Read on to discover more about the cannabinoids in your favorite Green Revolution products.

Scientific Knowledge of Cannabinoids

Although humans have had a relationship with cannabis for literally thousands of years, only recently have many of the cannabinoids featured on dispensary shelves been discovered by scientists. Even the most widely known cannabinoids: THC and CBD, were discovered in 1964 and 1940 respectively. In reality, cannabinoids have only been known scientifically to humans in the last 100 years.

THC

Before cannabis can be converted into THC, it must be converted from the naturally occurring THCA found in the cannabis plant. THCA is non-psychoactive but purportedly useful for ailments like nausea. For THCA to Convert to THC, it must be heated in a conversion process known as decarboxylation. Some decarboxylation occurs when cannabis is exposed to sunlight for prolonged periods of time, but significant decarboxylation requires more extreme temperatures via methods like lighters.

THC is largely responsible for the “high” people experience from cannabis. THC achieves these effects by stimulating the part of the brain that responds to pleasure and binding to endocannabinoid receptors, mostly in the brain, that control pain, mood, and other feelings.

CBD

Like THC, before cannabis or hemp can be converted into CBD, the CBDA in the plants must undergo decarboxylation. Once CBDA is converted to CBD, CBD purportedly delivers relief from chronic pain, inflammation, migraines, depression, and anxiety among other benefits. Worth noting, these effects. Tend to be felt more in the mind than the body when compared to THC.

For those looking for a high CBD, low THC experience, Green Revolution’s line of Relief products are the way to go. For those who want no THC, Green Revolution CBD can deliver products right to your door.

CBN

CBN is a naturally occurring cannabinoid that is formed when other cannabinoids like THC degrade. CBN has gained a lot of popularity recently for its reported sleep-inducing properties. However, CBN is a cannabinoid that has undergone far less scientific research than THC and CBD, so more is to be discovered and understood about CBN.

For those looking for THC-containing CBN products, Green Revolution’s line of Chill products are an excellent choice. For those who want CBN with no THC, Green Revolution CBD offers a range of CBN products as well.

CBG

CBG is akin to CBD and THC in the sense that it is derived from a parent molecule–CBGA. Interestingly, CBGA is the cannabinoid precursor to THC and CBD in the cannabis plant. Air and light are responsible for converting this CBGA into CBG. Little research has been done on CBG, as is the case with CBN. CBG is reported to be among other things, an antidepressant, a muscle relaxant, and an antifungal agent.

Green Revolution products like Solace topical make use of CBG. Green Revolution CBD’s website also has an array of products containing CBG.

Lesser-Known Cannabinoids

Beyond THC, CBD, CBN, and CBG are many more cannabinoids that aren’t as widely known or researched. For example, THCV is a cannabinoid that was only discovered, but is thought to be like THC but less psychoactive and with appetite suppressant properties. Imagine if society knew all the applications of every cannabinoid!

Clearly much is still to be discovered about cannabinoids of the powerful and important cannabis plant. That is part of why Green Revolution creates its products—to enable you to discover for yourself the power of diverse cannabinoids and nuanced experiences.
