A Different Kind of Entourage Effect

Herbs

New possibilities are unlocked when cannabis is combined with other herbs.

More Herbs, More Possibilities

Cannabis by itself is powerful but when used in synergy with certain other herbs, a new range of positive and powerful effects are unlocked. You’ve probably heard of the entourage effect before. If you haven’t or need a refresher, the entourage effect refers to the combined effect of compounds found in cannabis (like cannabinoids and terpenes) on the user.

However compounds found outside of cannabis also have synergies with compounds in cannabis. This poses an exciting opportunity. Cannabis-containing products that contain other wellness herbs can create a wider range of effects and treat a wider range of conditions than cannabis on its own can.

As such, Green Revolution has been exploring the synergies between cannabis and other botanicals through its products. Here we will break down the synergies between these botanicals and cannabis by using botanicals found in Solace as examples.

Aloe Vera

Solace TopicalGreen Revolution’s Solace Cream contains aloe vera. Aloe vera is a nutrient-rich succulent plant that grows in desert regions. Early evidence has shown that aloe vera gel can actually decelerate the aging of your skin cells. This, paired with the CBD in Solace is a powerful team for making skin look young and alive. CBD contains antioxidants that lessens signs of visible aging. In addition, CBD and aloe vera are strong antioxidants. Antioxidants protect our cells against free-radicals, which may be responsible for cancer, heart disease, and other diseases. This is why CBD and aloe vera are often ingredients for oral and topical products.

Argan Oil

Argan OilSolace also contains argan oil, an ingredient you’ve likely seen when browsing the shampoo section of your local drug store. Argan oil is a plant oil made from argan trees found in Morocco. Like CBD and aloe vera, it reduces signs of aging and contains antioxidant compounds. Argan oil may be applied directly to the skin to reduce injuries and infections via its anti-inflammatory properties. THC, another cannabinoid in Solace, likewise has strong anti-inflammatory properties, making the two effective companions in treating damage and stresses external and internal.

Coconut Oil

Coconut OilIf you’ve made edibles at home before, you may know that coconut oil is a widely used carrier for cannabinoids. Why? Coconut oil is high in saturated fat. This means that THC, CBD, and CBN molecules have many fatty acids to latch onto. Plenty of fatty acids to latch onto means plenty of potency. Solace is extremely effective in treating one’s skin in part due to this retention of potency via cannabinoids and coconut oil.

Green Tea Extract

Green TeaRich in polyphenols, green tea is effective in fighting inflammation. At the same time, it’s an antioxidant like other ingredients in Solace. Beyond those properties, green tea improves energy and brain function. While Solace is only meant to be used topically, green tea is used in other cannabis products to feel more functional and/or energetic when feeling the mind-altering effects of THC.
